K-9 Veterans Day
Today we honor all of the working dogs who have served our country: past, present, and future. National K-9 Veterans Day is a day to recognize and say thank you to all dogs that protect and serve.
K-9 Veterans Day
Why is it celebrated on this day? March 13th is the official birthday of the US Army K-9 Corps, formed in 1942. It is a day set aside to honor and commemorate the service and sacrifices of American military and working dogs throughout history.
Today's military dogs are valued as important members of their military units and even have their own retirement ceremonies, awards and medals and memorial services. Dogs truly are a special animal and deserve nothing but respect from all of us. Take some time and thank a fellow K-9 Veteran today.
